At Timaru Christian School there are two very different accounts payable.
ACTIVITY FEES...payable to the school.
As with most other schools we charge Activity Fees to cover the cost of activities students participate outside of the usual academic programme of the school. This usually amounts to between $15 and $25 per term and is payable to the school.
ATTENDANCE DUES...payable to the Timaru Christian School Trust Board
Attendance Dues are set in integrated schools to cover our responsibilities towards property costs. The Ministry of Education pays a minimum maintenance cost per square meter of classroom space and all other costs are borne by the proprietor. These include capital repayments and interest on the buildings, capital works on the buildings and grounds and property development requirements placed on the proprietor at integration by the Ministry of Education. Attendance Dues cannot be diverted to other expenditure areas in the school.
Timaru Christian School could not operate without charging attendance dues. These are currently set at $675 ($600 plus GST) per student per year. The attendance dues are payable to the Timaru Christian School Trust Board. Payment of attendance dues are compulsory.
Accounts are sent to each family at the beginning of each term, payable for one month in advance. Account details are avaliable by contacting Carolyn Bunting on 688 3334. Automatic payment is the preferred method of payment.
